When my dad was still alive, I could also say the same - that I love him more than I love my mom. But on the day my dad died, I said to myself that I will make my mom my best friend, after all, she’s the only parent I have left. I guess that’s part of the reason why my dad left first - so that I could shift the love to my mom. My relationship with mom is getting stronger. I could say she’s becoming my best friend now.
